WEBSITE
VisionFund Ghana is a tier-3 microfinance institution operating across Ghana, with a network of 21 branches and seven zones. It primarily serves rural and peri-urban microentrepreneurs (≈70 % rural clients), of which ~83 % are women. The institution offers group and individual lending.
The proceeds from the financing will be utilized for onlending for clean cooking finance. Initially, VFG will pilot efficient biomass stoves, leveraging partnerships with stove vendors, and gradually expand to LPG or electric stove models as the ecosystem scales. The pilot (1,000 units over six months) will validate underwriting, repayment, and demand models; successful deployment will inform a national roll-out. By channeling capital through the existing microfinance infrastructure, Spark+ enables immediate reach into underserved markets while embedding clean cooking adoption into a financially sustainable platform.
